Alkaline Celery & Carrot Soup
For some people, a warm celery soup can be a more comfortable option than celery juice. Cooking the vegetables may make them easier to digest, and the soup still provides the natural minerals and flavors of celery while being gentler on the stomach.
The base of the soup is gentle and simple, which is good for you. The flavorful drizzle on top turns it into a fun, tasty soup! Add fresh herbs to take it up another notch—in both health and flavor.

Alkaline Celery & Carrot Soup
An alkaline, warm soup, with a tasty drizzle and fresh herbs.
Ingredients
Soup
- 2.5 cups celery (chopped)
- 3 carrots (medium size)
- 2 to 2.5 cups filtered water
- 3/4 cup yellow onion (chopped)
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp lemon pepper
- Garnishes
Blood Orange Cilantro Drizzle
- 6 sun dried tomatoes
- 1/2 bunch cilantro (about 1 cup loosely packed)
- 1 blood orange (juiced)
- 1 lemon (juiced)
- 3 tbsp olive oil (or use water)
- 1 tbsp water
- spicy pepper
Instructions
The Soup
- Chop the celery, onions, and carrots.
- Add the vegetables and water to a medium-sized pot. Use 2 cups of water to start. Heat until it just begins to boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cover and simmer for 8-10 minutes. Cook the vegetables until tender, but don't let them become soggy or overcooked.
- Blend all the ingredients in a high-speed blender until very smooth. Add another 1/2 cup of water if you want the soup to be lighter.
- Top with the cilantro drizzle and fresh herbs.
Blood Orange Cilantro Drizzle
- Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend well. The olive oil adds a nice flavor, but if you'd like to reduce the oil, you can substitute with water or the juice of one more blood orange.
