This is a salad I like to bring if we're on our way out and bringing food with us. It's quick and tasty. Frisée is such a fun variety to make salad with.

Simple Frisée Salad
A very simple to make frisee salad with sour and spicy flavors.
Ingredients
- 1 Head of Frisee
- 1 Head Chicory (optional)
- 1/4 Cup Olive Oil/Avocado Oil Mix
- 1 Lemon
- 1 Lime
- 1.5 Tbsp. Organic Tamari
- 3 Cloves Garlic
- 2 Tbsp. Dijon Mustard
- Chili Flakes
Instructions
- Smash and chop garlic cloves into nuggets, and sauté them in avocado oil until they're cooked through and crispy.
- Squeeze lemon and lime juice. Or use equivalent of one or the other.
- Whisk the juice, oil, tamari, and mustard. Then add the crispy garlic.
- Add washed greens to a salad bowl. Pour on the dressing, add olive, pickled red onions, chili flakes, and all the other things your heart desires.
Notes
Nutritional yeast is a nice addition to this salad. You can add it in the dressing, and/or add it on top of the salad.
To make pickled onions just heat up half vinegar, half water, with sea salt, and pour it on top of sliced onions in a glass jar. Make it the day before.
