Simple Frisée Salad

A very simple to make frisee salad with sour and spicy flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 Head of Frisee
  • 1 Head Chicory (optional)
  • 1/4 Cup Olive Oil/Avocado Oil Mix
  • 1 Lemon
  • 1 Lime
  • 1.5 Tbsp. Organic Tamari
  • 3 Cloves Garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. Dijon Mustard
  • Chili Flakes

Instructions

  1. Smash and chop garlic cloves into nuggets, and sauté them in avocado oil until they're cooked through and crispy.
  2. Squeeze lemon and lime juice. Or use equivalent of one or the other.
  3. Whisk the juice, oil, tamari, and mustard. Then add the crispy garlic.
  4. Add washed greens to a salad bowl. Pour on the dressing, add olive, pickled red onions, chili flakes, and all the other things your heart desires.

Notes

Nutritional yeast is a nice addition to this salad. You can add it in the dressing, and/or add it on top of the salad.

To make pickled onions just heat up half vinegar, half water, with sea salt, and pour it on top of sliced onions in a glass jar. Make it the day before.
